Can I burn my gas log with my glass doors closed?&lt;br /&gt;A.  NO.  Traditional gas logs are intended to be burned with doors and damper ALL THE WAY OPEN, not just partially open.  Otherwise, the valve may over heat and malfunction and the glass may break.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Q.  Can I convert my woodburning fireplace to gas?&lt;br /&gt;A.  Yes.  You could either convert to a gas log or a gas insert.  Gas logs are designed to burn like a traditional open fire.
